Helicopter Mechanic - $40,000.00 Annually

Under the general supervision of the Aviation Unit Chief Pilot, performs mechanical work of average to above average difficulty and responsibility in connection with the scheduled and repair of the Sheriff's Office aircraft. Work requires knowledge and skill in the performance of mechanical tasks involving routine repair, maintenance, and servicing of aircraft and related equipment. Employee may be on call for emergency repairs. Performs other work as requested.

 

Qualifications:  Minimum of (3) years of airframe and power plant (FAA A&P or IA certified) experience in helicopter maintenance, repair, trouble shooting and inspection. Preferred experience with Bell and MD light turbine engine helicopters.

Alternate School Crossing Guard - $12.00 per hour
 

Under the direct supervision of the assigned traffic sergeant, provides supervision of pedestrian control at a specific location so as to provide for the reasonable and orderly flow of pedestrian traffic and for the safety of the general public.  Click here for additional information and a printable application for this position.

DETENTION DIVISION
 

Reserve Detention Deputy (Volunteer Position)

The responsibility of the reserve detention deputy is the security and integrity of the facility, which includes prevention of escape, injury to the staff, or injury to inmates.  Due to the classification status of inmates housed in these housing units, extreme caution must be exercised during the normal discharge of duties.  The reserve detention deputy works in close coordination with the housing control member and the shift supervisor.  The duties of the reserve detention deputy assigned to direct supervision of inmates housed in this section include visiting, meals, phone calls, linen exchange, movement of inmates and recreation.  The reserve detention deputy reports directly to the assigned shift supervisor.
