Career opportunities available for highly motivated individuals interested in Public Safety Communications (911 call processing & law enforcement and fire/rescue dispatching).

Starting annual salary $24,967.80 annually plus excellent benefits package.

LAW ENFORCEMENT OPERATIONS BUREAU
Reserve Deputy Sheriff (Volunteer Position)
(Must Have State Certification)
The HCSO is looking for highly motivated individuals to serve as Reserve Deputies (law enforcement certified). This is an excellent opportunity for individuals to gain first-hand experience in the field as a deputy sheriff before deciding to dedicate themselves to the profession as a full-time deputy. Many Reserve Deputies have taken advantage of this great opportunity, as it is the practice of the HCSO to offer full-time deputy positions (as they become available) to those individuals who volunteer their time in a Reserve capacity.
Applicants must be state certified, hold a valid driver's license with a good driving record, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, pass drug screen, physical, pre-employment test and background check.

JUDICIAL SERVICES BUREAU
Detention Deputy
(Must Have State Certification)

The responsibility of the detention deputy is the security and integrity of the facility, which includes prevention of escape, injury to the staff, or injury to inmates.  Due to the classification status of inmates housed in these housing units, extreme caution must be exercised during the normal discharge of duties.  The detention deputy works in close coordination with the housing control member and the shift supervisor.  The duties of the detention deputy assigned to direct supervision of inmates housed in this section include visiting, meals, phone calls, linen exchange, movement of inmates and recreation.  The detention deputy reports directly to the assigned shift supervisor.

LPN Staff Nurse

The HCSO is looking for a qualified LPN Staff Nurse interested in joining our team!

The Staff LPN Nurses basic duties are to be responsible for direct nursing care of inmates incarcerated in the detention facilities in accordance with established policies and procedures of the facility and the accepted standard of nursing practice within the state. The primary responsibilities are to provide sick call, deliver medication, respond to emergencies, and conduct physical appraisals on inmates.
