S.T.O.P.P.E.D.
(For Hernando County Residents Only)

Sheriff Richard B. Nugent is pleased to introduce the S.T.O.P.P.E.D. program.  A parental notification system developed to help reduce the number of young drivers involved in motor vehicle accidents.

Annually over 3,000 drivers between sixteen and twenty-one years of age die in the United States as a result of car crashes.

Hernando County Sheriff's Office offers parents this voluntary notification system to extend their watchful eyes and raise the awareness of drivers under the age of 21.
