The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office received information that James Richard Duket DOB/05-27-1968, a registered Sexual Offender, failed to report his change of address.

Duket was adjudicated guilty in 2012, in Pasco County, for Lewd or Lascivious Battery, Victim Under 16 Years of age, Offender 18 Years of age or older. This conviction designated Duket as a Sexual Offender in the State of Florida with registration requirements.

The information received indicated Duket had not resided at his reported address, located on Chesire Street, since March of 2026.

On 06-03-2026, Detective Marcacci responded to Duket’s reported address and confirmed that the residence was vacant.

A further review of Duket’s Florida Department of Law Enforcement (F.D.L.E.), Sexual Offender and Predator System (SOPS) profile, yielded Duket failed to complete his mandatory FDLE SOPS bi-annual re-registration during his birth month of May.

On 06-04-2026, Duket came to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office to complete his overdue FDLE SOPS re-registration. During the registration, which Detective Marcacci was present for, Duket reported no new permanent, temporary or transient address and no new changes to his profile.

When questioned by Detective Marcacci, Duket stated that he had not resided at his FDLE SOPS-registered permanent address on Cheshire Street since April 2026. As a result, Duket knowingly provided false information on his FDLE SOPS registration by submitting address information under penalty of perjury that he knew was inaccurate while certifying that the information was true and correct.

Duket was placed under arrest on the following charges:

Count 1: Failure to Report Change of Address Within 48 Hours

Count 2: Failure to Complete Bi-Annual Registration

Count 3: Knowingly Providing False Registration Information by Act or Omission

Duket was transported to the Hernando County Detention Center, where placed on a NO BOND status.
