Absconded Sexual Offender Arrested for Failure to Register

On 06-29-2026, Detective Marcacci received information that absconded sexual offender, Harold Wayne Lovell DOB/05-26-1958, was residing at a residence off of Catalina Street in Spring Hill. Information was also received that Lovell had an active Felony warrant out of Alabama.

Lovell was adjudicated guilty in 1983 Milwaukee County, Wisconsin for Third-Degree Sexual Assault.

Lovell’s sexual offender status requires him to register at a local sheriff’s office within 72 hours of establishing a residence out of state.

Detective Marcacci confirmed Lovell had an active Felony warrant out of Alabama for Violation of Probation on the original charge of Burglary.

Detective Marcacci responded to the Catalina Street address, where contact was made with Lovell. Lovell stated he has been residing in Florida since February of 2026 but had only been in Hernando County for two weeks.

Lovell was arrested on the following charge:

Ct.1) Failure to Register as a Sexual Offender.

NO BOND.
