
Juvenile Arrested in Commercial Burglary of Spring Hill Business
On 06-30-2026, Hernando County Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested Hy’keem Aykee Walker, DOB/12-04-2009 in connection with a commercial burglary at Roll Up Smoke and Vape, located at 7387 Spring Hill Drive in Spring Hill.
At approximately 12:20 a.m., surveillance video captured a suspect arriving at the business wearing dark clothing, a face covering, black slides, and carrying a dark-colored backpack. The suspect used a large rock to shatter the front glass door before kicking the damaged door several times to create an opening large enough to enter the business.
Once inside, the suspect, went behind the sales counter, and removed merchandise, placing the stolen items into the backpack before fleeing the area on foot toward Pinehurst Drive.
Later that day, detectives received information identifying Walker as the individual captured in the surveillance footage. Detectives located Walker nearby and observed that he matched the physical description of the suspect and was wearing the same style of footwear seen in the video.
Walker admitted to committing the burglary and provided detectives with details of how he carried out the crime.
During Walker’s arrest, deputies located a vape device in his pocket. Walker admitted the vape device had been stolen during the burglary. He also directed detectives to the location where he had discarded the remaining stolen merchandise, which was recovered inside the backpack.
Walker was arrested and transported to the Hernando County Detention Center where he was charged with: Ct.1) Commerical Burlgary
The Department of Juvenile Justice was contacted and took custody of Walker.
