On 07-01-2026, detectives with the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office Vice and Narcotics Unit, with assistance from the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team and the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team, executed a court-authorized search warrant at 4812 Oakfield Circle, in eastern Hernando County.

The search warrant was the result of an extensive narcotics investigation targeting Mark Shawn Gordon, Sr. DOB/08-07-1963. During the investigation, detectives conducted multiple undercover purchases of both methamphetamine and fentanyl from Gordon.

As the investigation progressed, detectives determined that numerous individuals were living on the property in several separate structures. Detectives also received multiple complaints from neighboring residents regarding suspected criminal activity occurring at the location with information about possible stolen property being located on the property.

Upon execution of the search warrant, the Hernando County and Citrus County SWAT Teams safely secured the property without incident. A total of 12 individuals were located living throughout 10 separate structures on the property.

Following the property’s securement, detectives conducted a search of the residence and surrounding structures. The search resulted in the recovery of significant quantities of illegal narcotics, numerous firearms, and a large amount of stolen property.

Among the items recovered were:

• 63.6 grams of fentanyl
• 20.9 grams of methamphetamine
• 90.2 grams of marijuana
• 14.5 grams of methadone
• 2 grams of Suboxone
• Three Alprazolam tablets
• Twelve firearms possessed by convicted felons to include rifles, shotguns, and handguns
• Four confirmed stolen firearms originating from North Carolina, Citrus County, Hillsborough County, and Brevard County
• One stolen Chevrolet Tahoe from Sumter County that had been partially disassembled
• One stolen ATV reported stolen from the hotel area near the interstate in Hernando County

In total, 11 of the 12 individuals located on the property were arrested on various criminal charges.

The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division is continuing its investigation into the stolen property recovered during the search warrant. Additional criminal charges and arrests are possible as that investigation progresses.

The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to identifying and investigating residences that have become a nuisance to the communities surrounding them through the sale of illegal narcotics and the criminal activity that often accompanies it.

Properties involved in the distribution of illegal drugs frequently generate additional crimes, including the possession of stolen property, illegal firearms, wanted individuals, thefts, and other offenses that negatively impact the quality of life for neighboring residents.

The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office will continue to aggressively investigate these locations and work to hold those responsible accountable in an effort to improve the safety of our neighborhoods.
