UPDATE - ICAC Investigation Leads to Arrest of Spring Hill Man on Possession of Child Pornography

UPDATE 09-29-2026

On 09-28-2026, the Digital Forensics Unit completed an extraction on Jacob Parent’s cellular phone. Upon reviewing the extraction 2 additional filles of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) were located.

The Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit later responded to Parent’s residence located on Eric Street and made contact with Parent. He was placed into custody and transported to the Hernando County Detention Center on the following charges:

- Possession of Child Pornography (2 Counts)

NO BOND

Digital forensics is still examining Jacob’s other devices that were located at his residence during the initial search warrant.

ORIGINAL INFORMATION

On 12-30-2025, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) received information in regards to the possession of child pornography. The information was later assigned to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office for further investigation.

After investigation probable cause was established to support a search warrant for a residence on Eric Street in Spring Hill.

On 04-22-2026, members of the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office executed the search warrant at the aforementioned residence.

Upon executing the search warrant, contact was made with Jacob Pierre Parent DOB/07-03-2003. While speaking with Parent, he confirmed ownership of the email account which contained the Child Sex Abuse Material CSAM. Parent also stated he uses his cell phone to view CSAM on different social media sites.

During execution of the search warrant, electronic devices were recovered from the residence.

Parent was arrested and transported to the Hernando County Detention Center on the following charges:

- Possession of Child Pornography (1 Count)

NO BOND

- Unlawful use of a Two-Way Communication Device (1 Count)

$5,000 BOND

The investigation remains ongoing.

Sheriff Al Nienhuis has a zero tolerance for possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material. Any and all tips are, and will be, meticulously investigated, no stone will be left unturned. Any person who possesses material of this nature will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
