The EMT/Paramedic’s basic duties are to be responsible for inmate medical screenings of inmates incarcerated in the detention facilities in accordance with established policies and procedures of the facility and the accepted standard of practice within the state.

Requirements
  • High School or College Diploma or GED*
  • DD-214 (if applicable)
  • Valid Florida Driver License
  • Social Security Card
  • Certified Birth Certificate
  • Marriage Certificate and/or all name change documentation
  • Naturalization Certificate (if applicable)
  • Florida Basic Recruit Certificate
  • Florida State Exam results

You must be state certified or currently enrolled in an academy class to submit a Law Enforcement Deputy or Corrections Deputy application.
