Public fingerprinting services for Hernando County residents

In an effort to provide the most efficient customer service and minimize lengthy wait times, the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office has implemented a scheduling system for fingerprinting services. As always, fingerprinting services are provided at no charge but are for Hernando County residents only.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement does charge to conduct the background check. Refer to FDLE’s fee schedule here.

A valid driver’s license or identification card with proof of Hernando County residency is required for all fingerprinting services. No exceptions.

Concealed Weapon Permit fingerprints – You must bring the fingerprint card from the CWP permit packet.

Seal/Expungement court requests - You must bring the Fingerprints for Application for Certification of Eligibility form.

All other fingerprint requests, (except for Hernando County employment applicants) will require you to provide an Originating Agency Identification (ORI) number. Contact your employer or the entity requesting fingerprints to obtain the ORI number.

Persons who walk-in without an appointment will be scheduled by the receptionist for the next available time slot.

If you experience a problem with the scheduling application or you have questions, please contact the HCSO switchboard at 352-754-6830 Monday – Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
