Lost or Found a Pet?

We've partnered with Petco Love Lost — a free national lost and found pet database — to help reunite pets with their families faster.

Whether you've lost or found a pet in our community, start by creating a report. You can upload a photo, generate a sharable flyer, and access tools to get the word out quickly.

Lost Pet?

  1. Report your pet as LOST on Petco Love Lost. Create a report immediately to help your pet get found faster using national image-matching and widespread community alerts. Report a Lost Pet
  2. Put up lost pet flyers. Print your pre-designed Petco Love Lost flyers or create your own bright, detailed flyers and post them in high-traffic areas: vet clinics, pet stores, community boards, and local businesses.
  3. Visit local shelters and rescues. Check in-person at shelters and animal control centers nearby.
  4. Share online. Share your Lost Pet Report on platforms like Nextdoor, Facebook, and Neighbors to maximize visibility.
  5. Microchip check. If your pet is microchipped, be sure to call them to ensure your contact information is current and active.

Found a Pet?

  1. Report the pet as FOUND on Petco Love Lost. Start a found pet report to be matched with owners and integrated into national search efforts. Report a Found Pet
  2. Check for ID & scan for microchip. If tagged, contact the owner directly. If no tag, take the animal for a microchip scan at a local vet, shelter or pet supply store.
  3. Share the finding locally. Post the pet's information on community bulletins and social platforms. Spread the word quickly.
  4. Consider bringing the animal to your local shelter. If no owner is found, email [insert email] for intake guidance. Shelter staff will scan for microchips and hold the animal for their required stray hold.
