Check for ID & scan for microchip.
If tagged, contact the owner directly. If no tag, take the animal for a microchip scan at
a local vet, shelter or pet supply store.
-
Share the finding locally.
Post the pet's information on community bulletins and social platforms. Spread the word
quickly.
-
Consider bringing the animal to your local shelter.
If no owner is found, email [insert email] for intake
guidance. Shelter staff will scan for microchips and hold the animal for their required
stray hold.
